Springfield, TN, May 2, 2018– Around 03:45am, Deputies from the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Stevenson Lane in Springfield; after a 911 call was placed in regards to someone being shot.
As Deputies arrived on scene, they discovered the victim, Stanley D. Garrett (W/M, 56 years old), laying in the roadway in front of a residence. Deputies discovered Stanley sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper chest area and was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency responders from the Robertson County E.M.S. (Emergency Medical Service).
During the investigation, Deputies and Investigators learned that Roy Edward Grant (W/M, 64 years old), was responsible for the shooting death of Stanley D. Garrett. Roy Edward Grant was arrested and taken to the Robertson County Detention Facility without incident, where he has been charged with Criminal Homicide in the shooting death of Stanley D. Garrett. He is being held without bond.
