Homicide suspect captured in East Tennessee

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible homicide on January 4th. The ensuing investigation revealed that Maria Carmen Mora had been murdered, and her body was later discovered. Based on information received during the investigation, detectives believed that the victim’s husband, Hugo Morales-Correa, was responsible for the murder.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office learned that Mr. Morales-Correa had fled to Knoxville, TN and tracked his exact location. Detectives requested the assistance of Knox County authorities, and on Sunday night, Mr. Morales-Correa was apprehended by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. He will be transported back to Robertson County to face charges for the murder.

While the investigation is continuing, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office believes the murder was related to domestic issues.

Hugo-Morales Correa was captured Sunday night in connection with the murder of his wife, Maria Carmen Mora.
