Sheriff’s Office launches new efforts to connect with public

November 5, 2012

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the launch of the new and improved official Sheriff’s Office website. The new website is found at robertsonsheriff.com and features an easily navigated format that is user friendly and provides pertinent information to the public at the click of a button. Some of the features include inmate and booking information, active warrants, press releases, and public service announcements.

The Sheriff’s Office has coordinated a Most Wanted program with the launch that allows individuals with active warrants that meet established criteria as an endangerment to the public or public nuisances to be featured and publicized, aiding in their apprehension.  Also, the Crime Reports program that was started by the Sheriff’s Office in the summer of 2011 has been integrated into the website for the public. No longer will visitors have to search a separate site for this information. Crime Reports is a web based crime mapping and statistic software that allows the public to see what crimes have been reported in their communities. It also provides a format to send in tips related to those crimes to local law enforcement.

Additionally, the new website provides the public with a means to easily and quickly submit tips to the Sheriff’s Office regarding crimes, illegal drug activity, and the location of individuals with warrants. The Sheriff’s Office recognizes that public information is an invaluable tool to solve and prevent crime resulting in safer communities and a better quality of life for our entire county.

In conjunction with the launch of the new website, the Sheriff’s Office has also launched a Facebook page. The Sheriff’s Office believes that this social media outlet can be mutually beneficial for the public and the Sheriff’s Office by simultaneously keeping the public informed while providing a venue for the public to help the Sheriff’s Office by submitting tips to solve crimes.

The Sheriff’s Office is also in the process of developing a mobile app that will allow users to access our many features and stay informed via their smartphone. We plan to have this launched in early 2013.
