Double Shooting

Springfield, TN (November 27th, 2020, approximately 1:00am) The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the shooting of a 46 year old female, and a 15 year old female at a residence on Boyd Holland Rd. in Springfield, TN. The mother and daughter victims were taken to a nearby hospital where the 46 year old female is in critical condition with a life-threatening injury, and the 15 year old female is in stable condition with a non-life threatening injury.

Robertson County Deputies initially responded to a call of a gunshot wound at a residence on Boyd Holland Rd. Upon arrival, Deputies found the 46 year old female with a gunshot wound to the head, and the 15 year old female with a gunshot wound to the wrist. The shooting suspect, Robert D. Mitchell (DOB 8/18/1982), was still at the residence and surrendered to the Deputies without incident. Preliminary investigation indicates the suspect and both victims lived together, and the shooting occurred after an initial domestic altercation between the suspect and the 46 year old female. Robert Mitchell is currently being held at the Robertson County Detention Facility. Bond and booking photo will be available at www.robertsonsheriff.com once the booking process is complete.
