NCIC

The mission of the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office NCIC Division is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Robertson County by helping to bring to justice wanted persons, to recover missing persons, and to locate stolen property through the utilization of the National Crime Information Center’s database. NCIC’s database allows agencies across the country to communicate criminal justice information on the status of such persons and property. NCIC defines criminal justice information as “information collected by criminal justice agencies that is needed for the performance of their legally authorized, required function. This includes wanted person information; missing person information; unidentified person information; stolen property information; and criminal history information; information complied in the course of investigation of crimes that are known or believed on reasonable grounds to have occurred, including information on identifiable individuals; and information on identifiable individuals complied in an effort to anticipate, prevent, or monitor possible criminal activity.” The NCIC Division also assists with serving, verifying, and entering into NCIC warrants received by the Sheriff’s Office.
