The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division’s mission is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Robertson County by reducing fear, crime, and financial loss through effective and efficient investigative techniques and utilizing cooperative efforts with local, state and federal agencies, and a working relationship with the District Attorney’s Office. The Criminal Investigation Division strives to bring forward into a court of law, by way of a thorough and professional investigation; those individuals who have been accused of violating the laws of the State of Tennessee and the United States of America.

Lieutenant Scott Jones, Criminal Investigations Division Commander

Lt. Scott Jones began his career at the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office in May of 1993. He has worked in the Divisions of Corrections, Patrol, Crime Suppression, SWAT, Narcotics, and Criminal Investigations. He has served as a Sergeant in the Patrol Division and in 2002 he was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division as a detective. In 2010, Lt. Jones was promoted to Sergeant of Detectives and in 2014 was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant serving as the Criminal Investigations Division Commander. Lt. Scott Jones is the agencies Polygraph Examiner and currently serves as the Vice-President of the Tennessee Polygraph Association. He holds an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Volunteer State Community College and has attended numerous specialized training schools throughout his career.
