EDUCATION

FAMILY

Family values are deeply ingrained within me as 1 of 11 children born and raised in Robertson County. I married my childhood sweetheart, Ruth Burke, and have a daughter, Beverly Bollinger Webster, who is a school teacher in Robertson County. She and her husband, Tony Webster, have provided us with 2 lovely grandchildren, Gena Ruth, currently working at the 911 office, and Michael, a junior at M.T.S.U.

TITLE OF SHERIFF
Since October 5th, 2001, I was appointed by the County Commission to fill the unexpired term of Sheriff Ted Emery following his fatal motorcycle accident in Dayton, Ohio. Prior to the appointment, I worked as Chief Deputy for eleven years. For 34 years I served in the Tennessee Highway Patrol with the last 10 years being in a leadership management position as District Captain.
The Sheriff is responsible for managing, coordinating and directing all activities of the Sheriff's Office, The Detention Center, all Courts, Central Dispatch Center and serving all warrants etc. First and foremost, the safety and welfare of his employees and citizens Robertson County.
Maintain a good working rapport with all law enforcement agencies, thereby enhancing the service of all communities at an economical cost.
Budget is a concern to this office, because it directly affects all citizens of Robertson County. I am always aware of the budget crunch and what effect a tax increase would have on property tax. Since 1990, we have submitted a Bare Bones budget and come under budget each year.
At this time, we are upgrading our CAD System with the latest available equipment. This will be of great assistance to our dispatchers and will allow emergency personnel to respond quicker to a call. This is at no cost to the taxpayer. Robertson County 911 Communications District is paying all expenses including training. This is from monies collected from your phone bill each month.
We are also working on a plan at this time to upgrade the entire booking system in the jail to be compatible with the computer systems in the Dispatch and Administrative offices. This will be a saver in cost and man hours. This is at no cost to the taxpayer. This upgrade is paid for by the vendor of the inmate telephone system.
